Last week saw the long awaited opening of the Restaurant du Lac. Its situated on the Etang du Bonde just outside Cucuron and the head chef is Philippe Sublet who writes the magazine’s recipes.
The location is beautiful, with a terrace overlooking the lake and the Luberon Hills. The opening evening would have been perfect, but for one small aberration. Someone inconsiderately parked their car right in front of the window where the menu was displayed. 200 people turned up and as they passed through the door they were denied the opportunity to appraise the food because of a hulking great 4x4.
Now a confession - I am ashamed to say that the car belonged to me. It was cold and dark, I wanted to park close to the restaurant and hadn’t noticed the menu. So my apologies to Philippe and his team if I ended up denying them any custom. Thankfully we only stayed for one drink - it was passed Elodie’s bedtime - and so the obstruction was soon removed.

I am a friend of the owners of Le Restuarant du Lac and was at the opening, I also had a delicious dinner there recently.
Wanting to send info about it to French friends, I clicked on the translated version. My French husband and I had a good laugh, but it is so badly translated that I can't send it on. Why don't you use a professional translator?
Best wishes, Juliet Schlunke

I decided to take my chances and went on Friday night with a girlfriend and when we arrived at 8:00 the restaurant was full. Upon entering the restaurant it looked very warm and inviting and the Maitre d very graciously welcomed us into the restaurant.
We had a lovely table in the far right corner next to the fire place. We opted to try the Gourmand Menu which really far exceeded our expectations. Each dish really was amazing. The ones in particular that really stood out were the roast monkfish tail, barigoule and pissaladiére tartelette, the spiced quail salad with chicory and papaya. For main course we had a roast St bass, crab beignet, served with the most amazingly delicious butter beans, and my favorite- foie gras served with figs that had been roasted in sweet wine. They also served along side the foie gras a lovely artichoke and foie gras pain aux raisins that was to die for! Very nice touch. The wines that were served by the very charming Maitre d'hotel were outstanding. All in all have to say it was one of the best meals I have eaten in the Luberon. I also thought that the staff were very friendly and hugely attentive. No attitude whatsover. The room had a really nice atmosphere- relaxed and very genial. After a stressful week this was a very civilized way to start my weekend and I was relieved to see that the Restaurant du Lac finely opened. We will be going back for some more!!

Light from the Sun (white light) is made up of many colours - red, green, blue,
and so on. Each of these colours has a different wavelength and frequency. When
light reaches the atmosphere it hits gas molecules which scatter the light in
all directions. This scattering is called Rayleigh scattering after Lord
Rayleigh who worked out the mathematical equations to describe it.

After two visits to Restaurant du Lac, I can safely say it is fast becoming my favourite restaurant in the area. Excellent food - carpaccio de biche to die for. Impeccable service. Good ambiance. Not cheap but you don't feel you've been cheated. Will be returning.

Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence. True friendship is a plant of slow growth, and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation.

That's known that cash makes us autonomous. But what to do when someone does not have money? The one way is to receive the loan and just student loan.

When you're in the corner and have no money to move out from that point, you would have to receive the home loans. Just because it should help you for sure. I take college loan every time I need and feel myself OK just because of this.
